Meet our Safeguarding Officers
Louise Blizzard
Lou is one of the Club Welfare Officers and has been a member of Warrington Athletics Club for 6 years and previous to that represented for Belgrave Harriers and Rossendale Harriers. She’s been competing for the last 35 years in all distances from 800m to ultramarathons! Lou works for Cheshire Police as a Manager in Forensic Investigations. Lou is often at the track on a Monday evening and helps out at the club events also.
Dave Pryor
It’s a pleasure to work alongside Louise Blizzard as one of the clubs Welfare Officers. I am Assistant Head Teacher at a Secondary School and have been the schools Designated Safeguarding Lead for the last 10 years. I have a vested interest in helping to ensure all athletes and all those associated with the club feel safe and respected as I have two boys who compete for the club as well as my wife, Emma Pryor, who also competes for the club as well as volunteering as a coach

Induction Group: Drop Off & Pick Up
Your child’s welfare and safety are always our number one priority at WAC.
The drop off and collection process of attending athletes does represent a significant
risk of a child walking unaccompanied beyond the confines of the track.
The car park is especially dark in the winter nights and regrettably not all vehicles
proceed at an appropriate speed.
To ensure the safety of all young athletes attending the induction groups please
ensure you accompany your child into and out of the gates of the track. Pick up can
be a busy time so please ensure your arrive at the track at least 5 mins before the
end of your child’s session.
In addition, we are reminding all parents and carers that they must be present
at the track for the duration of their children’s session. This can be either
within the track area or in their vehicles in the car park. (If you plan to stay in
your vehicle, please let your child’s coaches know this is your intention and
where you are parked so you can be quickly located if required.)
