Often having the best view of the action, the club are always looking for new Officials to join the team. How to become an Official:
- Attend a Level 1 Officials Course
- Complete the self paced Health & Safety and Safeguarding elearns
- Obtain a DBS check
- Officiate at 4 competitions
- Complete the Level 1 Officials application form

Dom Ellis
Level 4 Track Judge
Level 1 Field Judge
After becoming too old to compete in Youth Development Leagues Dom completed his Track Judge course to help his club out. Now as a level 4, Dom enjoys helping other officials develop.
Sue Makin
Level 3 Track Judge
Sue started track judging in 2000 as her daughters Dawn and Emma Makin who competed for Warrington didn’t need me to be with them all the time. Sue enjoys watching the athletes achieve their best in a fair and safe environment and love working with like minded people across a range of clubs some who she has known for a long time . Sue thinks there aren’t many better ways to spend a sunny afternoon.
Merv Ward
Level 2 Track Judge
Level 1 Endurance
Merv got involved as a result of attending Cheshire County Athletics Association meetings and their request to train more officials. He enjoys working with and learning from a team of experienced officials, helping less experienced officials, and being part of athletics.
Jim Russell
Level 1 Timekeeper
Jim got involved in timekeeping as the club were required to provide a timekeeper for league matches and nobody else was available. He enjoys the camaraderie on the timekeeping stand and getting a good view of the track events.
Dave Spencer
Level 2 Field Judge
Dave started officiating when his daughter was competing. Dave enjoy judging young athletes as I can educate them in the finer points of their chosen events.
